Visit Cape Point Vineyards, Noordhoek
Another ideal picnic spot! Pre-order your meal from Cape Point Vineyards, an award winning winery just south of central Cape Town. Plan on spending the day stretched out on the lawn taking in the views of the ocean.

This five-star property in Franschhoek is situated on a charming wine estate and they have a must-try afternoon tea with quiches, croissants, and other sweets. Be sure to make a reservation and come ready to indulge.
Stay a Night at Tintswalo
This is my favorite escape in Cape Town! They have ultra romantic, very private bungalows by the sea. It’s just thirty minutes from Cape Town but it feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
In the middle of a nature reserve, this exclusive spot will give you a night to remember.

Sunrise Hike Up Lion’s Head
For adventurers, this is a must! From up here, you will have some of the best views in South Africa. Wear a good pair of walking shoes and bring water. While it’s not really a difficult hike, it’s definitely a workout.
Bicycle Ride Seapoint
This is my hood! I love our promenade and you can cycle on the sidewalk for the entire length of the seaboard from Sea Point all the way to Clifton, then, if you’re up for it, down to Camps Bay.
Pink Flamingo Rooftop Cinema
I love the rooftop bar at the Grand Daddy Hotel any day of the week, but it’s an especially cool place to be on cinema nights when they set up the big screen amongst vintage Airstreams. You can get a picnic basket (including vegetarian options), so plan on having a classic dinner and movie date here.
They’ve always got a Monday night showing, along with various hour screenings so check their schedule.
Sunset Boat Cruise From the V&A
What’s better than a Sunset Champagne Cruise? Get scenic views of Table Mountain and Cape Town, and watch the sun fall below the sea as you sip on some bubbly.
Watch a Show at the Baxter Theatre
Baxter Theatre has something for everyone. With everything from comedies to performances, there’s bound to be something that you’re into. It’s also a prime spot to get a dose of local Cape Town.
Take a Sunset Cable Car Up Table Mountain
Any time of day is good to visit the top of Table Mountain, but sunset is especially stunning from up here. Be sure to buy tickets in advance and check the website for current conditions.
The weather at the top can often be totally different from the base of the mountain, with wind and inclement weather often shutting down operations, so come prepared.
Go On a Helicopter Ride
It’s not quite as scary when you’ve got somewhere there to hold your sweaty hand! As someone afraid of heights, trust me, a helicopter ride over Cape Town is so worth it.
