There’s nothing better than a fabulous accessory– especially a smart, multitasking one! The new FrontRow Wearable Camera aims to be the perfect travel companion for busy, on-the-go girls who want to take great shots without lugging around a camera.
I’m always scoping out new photography gear and this camera is definitely different than anything I’ve seen out there. This stylish, wearable device offers a level of quality and convenience that you just don’t get with a smartphone.
Here’s what you should know about the FrontRow Wearable Camera.
The Design
The FrontRow Wearable Camera is ultra lightweight, coming in at around 1/3 of the average phone weight. It features a multi-attach connector, and a magnetic clip/kickstand so that you can wear it as a necklace or use it as a remote selfie cam.
FrontRow has two separate cameras. There is one on the back that shoots in 2.7K Ultra HD, and a front cam that shoots in 1080P HD, along with a two-inch circular LCD touchscreen.
One of the best things about this camera is that it’s actually is stylish. It comes in black or rose gold and has an adjustable lanyard so you can totally customize it. As someone who loves technology but also has style in mind, I am obsessed with the rose gold version.
The option to add your own necklace is also awesome.
I bought a rose gold chain to match my camera, and love how it looks like a pendant necklace and not a camera. More than just a gimmick, the FrontRow cam really did just seamlessly blend with what I was wearing and I forgot I had it on – a much different experience from lugging around a heavy DSLR camera and equipment!
The User Experience
The FrontRow Wearable Camera is Android based, with a custom UI/OS. There are some popular apps already available, with more on the way. It’s easy to use straight out of the box. There is a media button and you just need Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to download and share media.
To take a photo, you just click the media button once. If you hold it down for two seconds, you can start and stop video. If you double click, you can start and stop Story Mode.
The Story Mode
This little camera has an amazing 70 hours of standby time. That means that you can record your entire day and replay it back—it automatically capture photos at the optimum time for 12 hours, then compiles the best frames into your personal time lapse of your entire day.
This is perfect for time lapse video storytelling and you can also use sensor data to have the camera discard any low quality shots.
The Connectivity
Making a connection with the FrontRow Wearable Camera is simple. There is Bluetooth connectivity that instantly pairs and shows your stream.
It’s reliable and there’s no real learning curve there.
The device can actually go onto portals requiring authentication because it runs off of Android and is able to launch a mini browser.
When you’re on Wi-Fi, the transfer feeds are crazy fast. From online mode, you can connect to your phone, network, or any Cloud services like Dropbox. You can also grab any additional controller from their website to create your ideal setup.
First Person Video Recording & Live Stream
The FrontRow Wearable Camera shoots 1080p video, with a wide angle 140-degree view. The quality of the video is undeniably impressive, even when you are wearing it, and that’s because of its crowning feature: Elite Optical stabilization and enhanced image stabilization.
This cam will live stream to Facebook or YouTube for up to two hours, which is a total dream for bloggers. If you want to record something hands-free without having to wear a helmet with a camera or some other distracting setup, the FrontRow Wearable Camera is a must-see.
